1. Call For Proposals

Dare to Dream called for proposals from Southeast Asian filmmakers from March 2015 – July 12th, 2015. Call for proposals is now closed.

 

2. Crossing Dreams Workshop

Twenty selected Southeast Asian projects and six selected participants from Europe were invited to meet, network, and develop their ideas with the support of international industry professionals at Crossing Dreams Workshop. This workshop was conducted in cooperation with Crossing Borders, from September 1st – 6th 2015 in Bali, Indonesia. This workshop selected 17 projects to receive development funding from Dare to Dream Asia.

 

3. Selection to other forums

Dare to Dream Asia projects have been selected to various pitching and documentary forums, including Leipzig Networking Days, DMZ Docs in South Korea, TokyoDocs in Japan, DocsPort Incheon In South Korea, Asian Network for Documentary in South Korea, Sheffield Meet Market in the U.K. and IDFA Forum in the Netherlands.

 

4. Dare to Dream Selection Workshop

From February 27th – March 2nd, 2016, 16 projects that were developed under Dare to Dream meet to present their development results and to pitch in front of potential co-producers, broadcasters, and financiers. Nine films were selected to be produced under Dare to Dream Asia.

 

5. Short Films

In addition to feature documentaries, Dare to Dream Asia also creates workshops and productions of short documentaries for the web that are published and distributed as complimentary components to the the features films.

 

6. Financing

The financial strategy is built in collaboration with various broadcasters, foundations, institutions and independent production companies that can unlock public and private funding.

 

7. Educational Resources

All films produced under Dare to Dream are available for public use after their agreements with broadcasters expiry. Any educational institutions or members of the public may use the films for non-commercial screenings and discussions. We will prepare extra tools and resources to facilitate discussions on the issues each film raises.
